FAQ
Common questions.
Straight answers about how mobile marine service works.
What areas do you serve?
Ocean County, New Jersey, and selected surrounding Jersey Shore communities, depending on location and job scope.
How does mobile service work?
McCann Marine comes directly to your boat — at an accessible private dock, marina, driveway or storage facility. You submit a request or call, we review the details and follow up to schedule.
What is the standard service-call minimum?
Standard mobile service has a $225 minimum.
What is included in the first hour?
The $225 minimum includes the first hour of standard labor, normal travel within 20 miles of our service base and minor incidental diagnostic supplies.
What does additional time cost?
Additional standard labor is $125/hour. Inboard and sterndrive specialty service has a $275 minimum including the first hour, then $175/hour. Emergency / After-Hours Service — $450 minimum, subject to availability.
Are parts and materials included?
No. Parts and materials are billed in addition to labor and package prices.
Are there travel charges?
Travel within 20 miles is included in the applicable service minimum. Over 20–40 miles adds $50, over 40–50 miles adds $100, and beyond 50 miles is quoted individually.
What is 100-hour maintenance?
Scheduled maintenance starting at $225 + parts and materials. It typically includes oil and filter, fuel filter, fuel-water separator, lower-unit oil, greasing, spark plugs and a general motor inspection, depending on the engine.
What is 300-hour maintenance?
Starting at $375 + parts and materials. It typically includes applicable 100-hour tasks plus thermostat service, steering and fuel-line inspection and additional scheduled maintenance. Water-pump replacement may be recommended and is quoted separately.
How is Water Pump Service priced?
Water pump and impeller service is quoted individually because the work varies by engine. Use Request a Quote and include your engine details.
How is winterization priced?
Winterization is quoted per boat based on length, engine configuration and onboard systems. The quote form asks for your boat length and which systems need winterizing.
Do you work on outboards, inboards and sterndrives?
Yes. Outboards are our core work; inboard and sterndrive service is available at specialty rates.
How do I request service?
Submit the Request Service form or call McCann Marine at (609) 661-3379.
How does scheduling work?
After you submit a request, McCann Marine reviews the details and contacts you to discuss the job and arrange a time. A request does not confirm a job until it's scheduled.
Is a deposit required for parts?
For parts orders exceeding $500, a 50% deposit is required before parts are ordered. The remaining balance is due according to the final invoice.
Do you warranty customer-supplied parts?
McCann Marine does not provide a warranty on customer-supplied parts. Any manufacturer warranty or product-related claim remains the customer's responsibility. This does not affect any warranties or rights that apply to McCann Marine's workmanship under applicable law.
How do I pay?
McCann Marine uses Square for invoicing and payment. Payment instructions are provided after the job is confirmed.
